One thing I learnt to do was to distance myself from negativity. However, I feel like recently I have become a sponge again which has made me wonder why we are attracted to negative things in life?
It happens in all areas of life, food, work, relationships, friendship and even self-love. I am sitting here knowing full well what the best things are for me and my future, however, there is some demon in the back of my mind that wants to test everything I arrange to do. How do I get that little bugger to run away again? I want to be focused again.
What are the reasons for putting ourselves into situations that distract us and deter us from our ultimate goal? I have spoken to a few people and their reasonings are all different, which I found highly interesting. Here are some of them:
Temptation – Momentary pleasure is easier than working for long-term greatness.
Adrenaline – It’s an addiction, the uncertainty can give you a thrill.
Natural Survival Instincts – We like to test ourselves to face the bad so we can be assured we can face situations that are thrown at us.
Tomorrow I am going on an Introduction to NLP training day to help me focus again. NLP stands for Neuro-Linguistic Programming. Neuro refers to your neurology; Linguistic refers to language; programming refers to how that neural language functions. In other words, learning NLP is like learning the language of your own mind!
I am going to write a blog on what I learn and how I can implement it into focusing again. I can’t wait to learn a new headspace and share it with you all.
